Alright dudes .. I know it has been 2 months since the Games ended but I always wanted to do my own review of the event, I have just been busy with stuff that I ended up postponing the review.
Anyways, the reason why I'm so eager to do the damn review is bcoz the event wasn't as awesome as I thought it would be. It wasn't all great. I had some fucked up moments and some good ones, which I think I'm gonna remember for life.
Let me start with the moments I wish I could erase from my small brain. If you didn't know I was in charge of the logistics of the event. When the students elected me, they wanted me to share the responsibility with someone else coz logistics is kind of big. But I said," Tak macho aaa share ngan org lain .. biar aku sorang je handle logistics .. takde halll punyaa." I was wrong. Logistics is a big part of any event. To tell you the truth I have never ever taken any responsibility that's as big as this one. I had an intuition at that time that something would fuck up.
So I took the post with the least amount of confidence in me and it was easy at first. Deals with hotels and also vip stuffs were quite easy to do. But then came the big thing. UNIVERSITY HOUSING. I got a good deal from them but MSD/JPA was the one that almost fucked me up. They didn't send the deposit by the dateline and aku gak kene layan minah asrama cibai tuh. Dah kutuk pelajar malaysian depan2 aku. Mmg betul pon aa ape die cakap tapi gaye die cakap cam white supremacist bikin gua panas aaa. Thank god Uncle Rahim negotiated with her about the payment and the problem was settled. One more thing, I couldn't reserve any parking for the registration day. I knew I'm gonna fuck it all up big time.
Then came registration day. I was helping Reefa with the event registration. Registration only started at 4.30pm but these people from Nebraska came in early like around 3 pm and they went straight to the housing. I had to be at the housing to supervise everything bcoz the head of their contingent wanted to pay for everybody and keep their keys with her. Mari kite panggil minah asrama nih Britney(bukan name sebenar). Britney said earlier to me that the head of the contingent could pay for everybody but I have to keep the keys at first and then when the they arrive I could give the keys to them.
The head of the contingent came to me and asked me (raised her voice) whether or not she could keep the keys. Ohh yeah I forgot to mention that there were 15 other Nebraskans around her and Britney was there too. So I told her what Britney told me. Suddenly Britney jumped in and said "No I said if you were comfortable giving the keys to the students than its ok." I was like whut the fuck is going on??? There were 15 fucking Nebraskans staring at me. I felt so stupid and embarassed that I just gave out the keys to her. Later Britney told me that she saw that the Nebraskan was forcing her way to get the keys and Britney just didn't wanna waste time with the Nebraskan so she just let me have it.
One more thing, while the Nebraskans were paying the bills(around 4pm), a guy came to me to ask about the parking. I said "the parking is only free after 4.30 pm until monday morning. You might get towed if you park right now." And then he asked why didn't I reserved the parking space. I said "The registration is suppose to start at 4.30pm the same time the parking is free." He then started to accuse me of not doing my job well and as though I didn't know what I was doing. Mmg maki hamun skali ngan naik suare lagi. I was like fuck you ass hole .. I know MSD didn't give the event to you guys .. u don't have to release your frustration at me dickhead!
Lets move on from this housing shit. The other thing that really disappointed me was some members of my soccer team. To them their own personal agendas were more important than winning the event. What's the use of going through hard training every fuckin day that in the end you are just going to fuck it all up for the whole team. The was the main reason why we didn't go through the group stages. We had our best team but that was the worst Midwest performance. OO ye I forgot Encik Rahim forced us to play without warming up with the Minister of Higher Education on our side. THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!
The last thing that I regret about the event was I didn't spend much time with my friends as I was busy helping other committee members with their stuff. The only time I had with them was during the Performance night which brings me to the only time I was actually happy. I was performing too haha. Even though it was just a small lousy part it was still memorable. I was so fuckin nervous before coming out as the last time I was on stage was like 3 years ago. Mmg menggelatar tak ingatnye. But when I came out, my friends started screaming my name and all my fears just went away. I felt as though I was born to act. I did act as a psychopath in Uda n Dara(theatre) and my performance received great compliments. Same as this one, even though not many there were still some who gave compliments. It might looked like a piece of cake but it's not easy to act stupid on stage. Fido aku ingat ko ade puji aku. Thanks a lot dude. After the performance thing, I did spend some time with my frens. Took pictures, memorable ones.I was hanging around with my frens from Minessota and RPI that night and I forgot about all the fucked up moments that happened before.
A couple of days after that, some of my frens told me that their stay at the housing was a good deal and there really satisfied with it. They even complimented me saying it was a job well done. After all the efforts made .. the sacrifices .. the hardships you went through and in the end it was not only a success but people praise you for it. It just made so happy to hear those compliments that it made me forget about the things that fucked up earlier. Well, the event was still a success. Everything went fine. For me, it was all but fucked up until the very last minute when it turned into a splendid moment.
p.s - I would like to thank Suriani Kempe for helping me with the housing stuff and deal with minah asrama tuh.
