Freedom of Speech

On Tuesday I bought USA TODAY. Yes I did buy USA TODAY and yes I do read newspapers. What I found so amusing but somehow pissed me off was that bloggers right now are being sued, up to millions. This article was on the front page of USA TODAY for god's sake.

Apparently, there was this dude who got charged with DUI, so he got a lawyer. After the procedings started, the dude somehow had a fight with the lawyer so he fired him (the lawyer). Then, in his blog he wrote bad things about the lawyer for example, and I quote from USA TODAY ".. blog was accusing the lawyer of bribing judges on behalf of drug dealers." The dude was instructed by the court to pay the lawyer $50,000.

I don't know whether to support the dude or to criticize him. On one hand, what the dude did was wrong. A person just can't falsely accuse other people of doing such things especially when it might affect other people's profession and also dignity. Kutuk Siti ngan Datuk K xpe aaa. Aku tgk misai Datuk K tuh aku dah panas. Die mengingatkan aku kpd seseorang dari Chicago yang ku amat tidak suke.

Back to what I was talking about, the dude. Yes I do think it was wrong for him to say things that might harm the lawyers credibility and reputation. But on the other hand, I do believe in Freedom of Speech. Every person has the right to voice out their opinion no matter how bad it sounds. It's a way to encourage open-minded thinking I guess because when you write about something, people who read the blog have the opportunity to comment on it and this will be a catalyst to start a discussion on the idea that the blog first wanted to express. Bapak complex ayat, aku bace balik pon x paham.

Anyways, I just want to say something about my blog. I would like to thank everybody who have been regularly reading my thoughts that I jot down on this blog. I'm really happy that this blog even though there's nothing fancy about it, can reach 5000 hits in less than a year. Thank you for sticking by this blog all this while. If you keep on checking out my blog then I will continue bringing interesting things for you to read. Again, thank you.

Datuk K invests his sausage in CTbank

First of all, I know I should've talked about this like a month ago but I've been busy with Career Fair and stuff plus my New York trip made me postponed the topic until now.

About Datuk K. I heard this from somebody I just met. I don't wanna say it's the truth bcoz I don't have the facts. It's up to you whether you want to believe it or not. Nanti cakap aku fitnah plak. Anyhew, Datuk K or Datuk Khalid Jiwa started as a bank clerk/officer. Somehow he met Tengku Zawyah Tengku Izham and ended up marrying her. How he met her I don't know .. maybe he had connections or something.

After marrying the royal family, he got all the connections and money that he needed. I mean when you're married to the royals, you're bound to meet the rich and the famous. Then, he started building his own empire from his wife's cash which would mount to millions. After about 10-15 years, he already established himself in the political as well as the economic scene. I'm not sure about this (forgot kind of) but Datuk K met Siti through a function that one of his companies held. From then on, he started pursuing her.

You may asked how an attractive woman like Siti can be attracted to a rotten fruit like Datuk K. Well according to celebvids.co.uk, he lured her with a Mercedes CLS350 worth about RM900,000 and a house worth more than RM1 million. Nak ngorat Siti kene belanje sampai 2 juta ... damn G. Mr. Tarudin without thinking straight away gave Datuk K the green light. C'mon man .. org kampung dpt 2 juta mau pikir lagi buat ape? kawin trus aaa. But Datuk K and Siti didn't get married right away. They did go out for sometime before tying the knot. Datuk K had his divorce papers to think about at the same time.

I'm pretty sure the dating/luring process didn't take a long time. If you think about it, if you're a 50 year old pervert and you're dating the most popular singer in Malaysia and Indonesia who's earning pretty much RM1 million a year, would you think twice about marrying her? To get Siti he had to get rid of his wife Tengku Zawyah (not by killing her duh). Tengku Z asked for 2 bungalows worth RM1.8 million, cash and probably some properties totaling about RM 9 million. He agreed to all her demands and the divorce was settled. Datuk K was single again and free to marry Siti.

Now comes the wedding ceremony. It was held at the KL Convention Centre and was broadcast live on TV3. Mawi and Ina/Ani's dialogue thing was shown live on RTM. That's not the stupid part yet. What shocked me was I heard that this was talked about in the Parliament. The Parliament members discussed about which event they want to broadcast on RTM. What in the world is actually wrong with Malaysians nowadays? If our political leaders are already that stupid, how are we suppose to trust them into improving our country and help us move towards Wawasan 2020 ???

Shouldn't they be talking about our country's economy or education or something that's useful and beneficial to all Malaysians ?? Why should we give a rats ass about Siti Nurhaliza getting married when there're wars going on in the Middle East? It's not like Siti is going to lose her virginity on national television. Then, it's definitely worth it. But, apparently the majority of Malaysians do care about Siti and that's why she and Datuk K got RM1million from TV3 for the wedding ceremony at KLCC. Moreover, there were thousands of Siti's fans at KLCC wanting to watch her tie the knot. If I'm not mistaken, the event was even broadcast on prime time (8 pm).

I know Siti Nurhaliza is the most popular singer in Malaysia and Indonesia. She could be the most popular porn star for all I care. But this obsession with her has got to stop NOW! Don't you think it's crazy to choose Siti's wedding over prime time news? I remember when I was kid my dad used to tell me that 8 pm is news time. Until today he will never let me or my siblings watch anything other than the news at 8pm. I don't why but Malaysia has become more and more ridiculous over the years.

Thanx a bunch

Before I start writing another blog, I would like to thank Nafis, Kolid, Esyam, Kakak Nafis and others from Minnesota who made my trip a memorable moment in my life. You guys really made my day during the 15 days I spent with all of you. Everytime I went to Minneapolis, I would always come back with great memories. Thanx guys.

I would also like to invite Nafis, Kolid and Kode to come to this year's Halloween event here in Madison. Probably you all could get better costumes this time instead of that lousy Scary Movie costume. Caution though, this year you have to pay 5 bucks to enter the area (sort of like cover charge at nightclubs I guess)
